RtWR 2016 Episode Twenty-Seven

This is the twenty-seventh episode in a series, retelling the Road to Wrestlemania 2016. This episode covers part four of Wrestlemania 32, originally televised April 3, 2016.

Match #1: Women's Championship Triple Threat Match

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks work together in the early stages of the match, looking to remove Charlotte from contention. The champion is forced to retreat outside the ring, giving Banks and Lynch an opportunity to fight one on one. Banks dominates initially, until a returning Charlotte breaks her momentum, allowing Lynch to hit Bexplexes on both opponents.

Ric Flair surveys the action at ringside, hoping to gain a chance to distract the referee or interfere to ensure his daughter is victorious. He almost costs her the match though, reaching out to trip up Banks only to catch the referee instead; who bans him from ringside.

With Flair gone, Banks drives home the advantage, knocking Becky Lynch from the ring and taking the fight straight to Charlotte. She avoids an attempted suplex, but her rollup attempt only gets a two count. She locks in an armbar, but Charlotte reaches the ropes.

Banks tries to pull her back in, but Lynch is there with a boot to Banks' face, and a running elbow to a recovering Charlotte. The Lasskicker climbs back into the ring, and leaps high, taking out both opponents with a splash.

Only to be rolled up into a Banks Statement.

But Charlotte breaks it.

As the match momentum continues to swing back and forth, Charlotte takes control, going after Becky Lynch's knee, until she can only limp. She tries to lock in the Figure Eight, but as she taunts her opponent, Banks hits a Back Stabber.

But she can't roll her up into a Banks Statement, as her legs are tangled with Becky's.

Rolling free, she rushes Lynch, but is caught out of nowhere by a Superkick.

With Banks knocked out of the ring, Becky Lynch grabs Charlotte, hitting a Bexplex, followed by a Dis-Arm-Her, forcing the champion, after a desperate stretch for the ropes, to tap out.

Match #2: WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

This match is an exact replica of their televised match at WWE Roadblock, with one slight difference. Triple H and Dean Ambrose throw everything they have at each other, as the match starts off with one disrespectful act following another, as neither wrestler cares to treat the other seriously. Ambrose mocks the Game at every turn, taking breaks and slapping the top of his head, before targeting the Game's leg over and over.

As the match progresses, Ambrose becomes more and more defiant, despite Triple H controlling long stretches of it, until suddenly, Ambrose sees an opening and hits Dirty Deeds. The referee counts three, and the crowd goes wild.

But the referee calls off the pin, as Ambrose's foot is under the ropes.

The fight spills outside the ring. Ambrose drops a devastating elbow from the turnbuckle to the arena floor, mocking Triple H further with DX chops.

But he pushes his luck too far, trying to put Triple H through the announce table, and the Game rolls out of the way, leaving Ambrose to crash and burn.

Triple H rolls back into the ring, and the referee starts the count.

Ambrose stirs at three, pulling himself back towards the ring.

He rolls under the bottom rope as the referee counts nine.

Triple H attacks immediately, dragging him up into position for a Pedigree.

But Ambrose reverses it into Dirty Deeds, and three long seconds later, the referee calls it.

Match #3: Shane McMahon vs The Undertaker

The cell is lowered, and secured in place. It's time for the main event.

Shane McMahon comes to the ring, waiting patiently for the Deadman to make his entrance. Vince and Stephanie McMahon comes to ringside, and take seats at commentary.

The Undertaker comes to the ring through a company of druids lining the ramp. The druids slowly shuffle back up the ramp once he reaches the cell, and once they are gone, he steps inside and pulls it shut behind him.

Once the bell sounds, Shane McMahon takes the fight straight to the Undertaker, hoping to use his speed to offset the Deadman's power advantage. But Undertaker quickly tires of him, throwing Shane back into the turnbuckle and hitting him again and again. He whips Shane into a clothesline, before pulling him back to his feet, and hitting Old School.

He hits the Last Ride. Throws Shane into the cell wall; once, twice, three times and again. Tosses Shane under the bottom rope, climbs the apron and drops a leg across Shane's chest.

But Shane kicks out of the following pin.

Undertaker throws the steel steps into the ring. Grabs Shane and attempts a Chokeslam. But Shane reverses it into a triangle submission. He tries to hold on, but the Deadman reverses it again, slamming him down on the the steps.

The match continues, as Shane builds a little momentum, but at every turn the Undertaker counters it into another devastating attack, or simply throwing him into the cell wall.

The Deadman locks in Hells Gate, and the referee looks ready to call the match...

But Shane reverses it into a Sharpshooter, and the Undertaker barely breaks the hold. Vince paces at ringside frantic, as Shane grabs a trashcan from underneath the ring, and pins the Undertaker in the corner with it. Climbing the turnbuckle, he waves at his dad, before leaping across the ring and connecting with a Coast to Coast.

The Undertaker kicks out.

Shane finds bolt cutters, and cuts his way free of the cell, but Undertaker recovers, tackling Shane through the cell wall and into the commentary table. He pulls the desks apart, and uses one of the monitors to crack Shane over the head. Picking him up, Undertaker attempts a Tombstone on top of the announce table, only for Shane to reverse it into a sleeper hold, which Undertaker breaks by falling backwards onto the table.

Shane recovers faster, using a steel chair to attack the Undertaker's arm and shoulder. Then he climbs the cell.

He reaches the top. Stephanie and Vince are on their feet in panic.

Shane stares at the crowd. Then at the Undertaker. Takes a breath. And leaps.

Undertaker rolls out of the way, and Shane crashes and burns.

And for a moment, no one moves.

And then the Game's music hits.

Pissed off from losing his title, Triple H stalks to the ring, sledgehammer in hand, determined to ensure that his power remains in place. He drags Shane out of the pieces of the announce table, throwing him into the cell wall. He swings the sledgehammer.

Only for Damien Sandow to tackle him to the ground. Sandow strikes the Game over and again. Vince McMahon drags Damien Sandow back, as the Dudley Boyz rush out, attacking Sandow and throwing him over the barricade.

Shane drags himself back into the ring, as the Undertaker gets to his feet. He shoves past Triple H, who follows him into the cell, and the three wrestlers pause for a moment. Undertaker, Triple H, and Shane McMahon. Damien Sandow fighting both Dudley Boyz in the crowd. Vince and Stephanie McMahon baying for blood outside the cell.

And just at that moment, music hits.

Roman Reigns is back.

The Big Dog walks calmly down the steps. He surveys the chaos. Then he takes a running leap and spears D-Von Dudley into the seats. Gets to his feet and hits Bubba Ray with a chair shot to the head.

Then he climbs the barricade.

Triple H can't believe what he is seeing. Vince and Stephanie are speechless.

Triple H charges out of the cell to confront Reigns. The Big Dog hits him with a Spear. Then picks him up and throws him over the second commentary table. He grabs Vince by the throat and shoves him back against the cell. The camera is close enough to hear him speak.

"You took it all from me. Now it's time for justice."

He throws the old man to the ground, and steps into the cell, coming face to face with the Undertaker.

Shane McMahon pulls himself to his feet. He stumbles back into the corner.

There is a moment of quiet.

And then Roman Reigns and the Undertaker go to war. Blow after blow rains down on each wrestler, as they trade powerful strikes and attempted holds. But Reigns is fresh, and the Undertaker is worn down.

Triple H tries to get back into the ring, but Shane dives through the ropes, taking out his brother-in-law.

Reigns hits a Superman Punch. The Undertaker sits up. The Undertaker reverses another Superman Punch into an attempted Chokeslam, but Reigns slips free, and connects with a bone-crushing spear.

He gets a chair from under the ring. He hits the Deadman. Once. Twice. Three times. The Undertaker sits up and Reigns hits him again. The Undertaker sits up again, dragging himself to his feet. Reigns is waiting, and hits him with another Spear, straight into the ring steps.

Reigns throws them clear of the ring, as Shane returns and climbs high, dropping an elbow on the Undertaker and attempting the pin.

Triple H scrambles into the ring, but Reigns is there, catching him in the ropes and holding him in place.

Vince and Stephanie try to get to the referee.

3.

The referee calls for the bell. Shane McMahon is victorious. He can barely stand.

Triple H gets free, and tries to attack someone. Anyone. But Reigns is there and now he has the sledgehammer. He cracks it over the Game's skull.

And as the show comes to a close, the last image is Roman Reigns, sledgehammer in hand, standing over the broken bodies of The Undertaker and Triple H.
